I personally don't think she truly deserves it , but let it be...

I've never liked Lady Gaga, and haven't given her a chance.

After watching the awards tonight, I figured I'd watch this video again with a more open mind, and I must say,there's something in it!

Waka Waka - This Time for Africa

Shakira said that she took the chorus from a Cameroon song .

Shakira wrote the verses and added the waka waka chorus which was a popular song in Colombia in the 80's , where she grew upfrom being a kid .

She said that since she was a child she wanted to sing that chorus and found the opportunity to do it in the World cup games.
